MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING

PRESENT: Debra Arrieta, Rose Tavtigian, Charlie Casella, Gloria Visgilio-Lupi, Pat Jones, Librarian and Tom Rup
EXCUSED ABSENCES: Lisa McMahon, Tony Foran
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes of the June 21st, 2010 meeting were approved as submitted
LIBRARY EXPANSION: We continued to discuss fund-raising options, including the possibility of federal contributions
LIBRARIAN’S REPORT:
--We received a Gates Grant for 25 laptop computers
--A Hartford Foundation grant results in 35 additional workstations. These are being configured now.
--Electronic (e) books are starting to catch on. Demand varies from 50-100 books monthly. The cost to the library is approximately 1/3rd that of printed books
